Itinerary description

Fantastic via ferrata, if a little tense at times... but that's why we like 'em!

Park in the little turn out (before the steps/cafe at the end of the road) and hike up the ridge... stay near the right side of the ridge and once you are close to the top follow the path around below the right side. It's fairly obvious.

There are several areas en route that are unprotected... I wouldn't have minded a cable being there, but I definitely wasn't worried about falling off!

Go early to stay out of the sun. Bring gloves... partly as it can be slower if busy and you may as well be comfortable!

Bring a couple of slings with you to take rests (Italians seem OK with resting on their lanyards!). Although you are safe the whole way, it's not the best secured route I've travelled... adrenaline was high in areas!

The first really secured area was a little challenging... the iron rods veer to the right, but the handholds do not. You need a little comfort with rock handholds.

After that everything was very approachable... there were two areas that scared the heck out of me, due to less-than-ideal (but non-lethal) protection, but given the level of tourism of the route I wouldn't be surprised if it has been fixed by now. Several guides take groups along this route.

Overall an absolutely breathtaking route, taking you to incredible views that you would never get by other methods. I absolutely LOVED it! Huge thanks to the builders and maintainers... you are wonderful!
