🇪🇸 Español: Vía ferrata de la Cueva de Pons, de dificultad K4, situada a las afueras de Argelita, en la provincia de Castellón.

Desde Valencia, Argelita está situada a unos 90km. En Google Maps, aparece el punto de aparcamiento de la vía ferrata. Hay que salir de la carretera de montaña e ir por pista unos pocos metros hasta llegar al panel informativo de la vía ferrata. Hay un espacio donde se puede aparcar.

La aproximación a la vía ferrata es corta. Calcula unos 15 minutos por el sendero que incluye descender por un tramo equipado con peldaños, para poder bajar con seguridad. La senda está muy bien trazada y no hay perdida.

La vía ferrata en sí es corta pero intensa, con un desnivel de 130 metros. Comienza con un primer tramo muy aéreo, que va en desplome continuo y hará trabajar un poco los brazos. Luego se tranquiliza y hay algunos pasos un poco más técnicos. Al final, hay un tramo corto sin peldaños pero con cable de vida y muy buenos agarres.

En nuestra opinión es un K4 en toda regla, sobre todo por el primer tramo desplomado y algunos pasos un poco técnicos. A pesar de esto es una ruta muy entretenida, y las vistas desde lo alto de la vía ferrata son preciosas. Al terminar la vía ferrata, nosotros subimos hasta las antenas para admirar las vistas 360º. Este lugar se puede acceder fácilmente siguiendo por la pista donde dejamos aparcado el coche.

From Valencia, Argelita is located about 90km. Google Maps displays the parking area for the via ferrata. You have to leave the mountain road and go along a track for a few meters until you reach the information panel of the via ferrata. There is a space where you can park.

The approach to the via ferrata is short. Plan on about 15 minutes on the path that includes descending down an equipped section with steps, so you can descend safely. The path is very well marked and there is no getting lost.

The via ferrata itself is short but intense, with a vertical gain of 130 meters. It begins with a first very steep section, which is in continuous decline and will make you work your arms a little. After that, it gets easier and there are some slightly trickier steps. At the end, there is a short section with no rungs but with lifeline and very good holds.

In our opinion this is a proper K4, especially because of the first overhanging section and some slightly challenging sections. Despite this it is a very enjoyable route, and the views from the top of the via ferrata are fantastic. At the end of the via ferrata, we climbed up to the antennas to admire the 360º views. This place can be easily accessed by following the track where we left the car parked.
