Beautiful via ferrata with breathtaking views ... Difficult to find the beginning of the path .. Before arriving in the center of Omis, cross the bridge over the river and keep left passing through a tunnel .. At the end of the tunnel there is a large parking lot on the left .. Park the car here and returning for a few meters towards the end of the tunnel you will notice a red inscription ferrata with a red dot .. This is the beginning of the approach path which takes about 10 minutes and which climbs steeply with free climbing sections of prime degree and an exposed traverse to be very careful.. After 5 minutes of walking on the left you notice a blue arrow to follow and which in 5 minutes leads to the start of the Ferrata... The development of it is very intuitive and follows the ridge of the mountain that is never too exposed and with only one technical passage characterized by a 5m vertical wall that is excellently aided but slightly overhanging... Once at the top we do not have the classic cross or summit but an almost intact fortress that dominates the surrounding promontory... The Fortress can be visited with a ticket of 3.5 euros and you can stock up on water from the caretaker... It's the only point in the whole route with water sources.. The return path starts behind the fortress with clear indications on a boulder and you can choose whether to use the steeper and faster route or the easier and longer one..
The via ferrata is totally exposed to the sun.
