Beautiful at dead low tide. Orton Point works well to estimate tides. Ship came by on way back and even paddling out of the canal it made for a nasty wake due to low water.
Beautiful at dead low tide. Orton Point works well to estimate tides. Ship came by on way back and even paddling out of the canal it made for a nasty wake due to low water.
Paddled down the Cape Fear starting 1.5 hr after high tide with a west wind around 10 mph. The water was a little rough at times due to the wind blowing from the west, but manageable.
Wonderful trek under cloudy skies. Calm waters heading N. Heading back home after delicious launch, skies darkened and winds at 13 with mild chop. Great conversation and marvels of the MIGHT Cape Fear.
