Hike is on a road along the Mokuleme River, several places with sand to access the river. Pit toilets along the way and a picnic area. Tennis shoes are adequate, boots and poles are not needed.
We had nice hills that were a good work out. On the exit was a very steep down hill. However, the road to the trailhead is hairy with 3 miles of patches, narrow and steep in some areas. I called it a wretched roadway.
