Day1 of the 2 day Swartberg Trail. Starting at De Hoek Nature Reserve hiking to Bothashoek Hut. 8.4km
Starts at De Hoek Mountain Resort. Arrange permits beforehand through Cape Nature in Oudsthoorn. This is an out and back trail. It used to be a circuit but at present ( Sept 2019 ) this is all that can be done.
Very tough climb and the downhill also a bit of a problem. The heat also a bit of a problem.
