北湖草荡是原生态滞洪区，有成片的芦苇。每到秋季，芦花盛开，风景优美。另有西溪湿地·洪园的芦花，每到深秋初冬，酷似一片白雪，故被称为“秋雪”。游览湿地，泛舟芦间，看芦赏花，听芦闻音，别有风味。坐在摇橹船上，沿水路缓缓前行。
