Itinerary description
On a sunny day the route has amazing views. It is a picture safari.
The route is uncomplicated, easy to follow and very flowy
The route has 1850 metres of ascent and descent (Schweizmobil) a bit more than Wikiloc indicates.
You set out from Zermatt...Look for signs to Furi.
Once past Furi then signs to Trockener Steg.
I made a mistake and took a skiing piste up. It takes you to the same place but with more distance. Then I rejoined the trail by cutting across a meadow. Just be more alert when you are past Furi and if you end up in the skiing piste following my GPS that´s not the right red-white mountain path but up to you. Both will take you broadly to the same place.
Follow the red white markings, there is only one path to Trockener Steg.
Once in Trockener Steg I kept running up until I got to the Glacier, then came down the same way.
The next 6 km are quite nice. They will do the lower side of the Furgg Glacier
You will be able to run down all the way down to Zermatt. The paths are not too steep. You will meet a lot of hikers as company.
It was done in 3h40 min of moving time. 7.5 km/h moving time. You could do it faster if you don´t stop to take 50 plus pictures.. but in these settings it is hard not to.
