Itinerary description
Did this one with my daughter.
Really nice to do: after taking the ferry across you stay on the right and follow the path. You'll take a few wrong turns but you'll see fast enough. Once up you are rewarded with a beautiful view. Back down most of the same road, then turn right to come off the other side. Careful on the rock at the water, it is REALLY slippery.
Nice, but steep, track back up again. Then a piece of road, you'll pass the restaurant where we later stopped to have dinner with the rest of the family who had caught up (Eggsentric, nice). Find your way to the beach and find the entrance at the end. Nice New Zealand Christmas trees on the top, continue, find the rock that looked upon the James Cook ship when it first arrived and find your way back.
You'll need to be in reasonable shape to do some of the steeper parts of this hike.
