Itinerary description
Wonderful loop option for the Colorado Springs area. Parking is on the west side of Gold Camp Road. There is additional overflow parking as you continue South on Gold Camp Road.
The trail starts mild with wonderful views and the begins to seriously climb once you pass the connector to the Intemmann Trail (which will take you to Manitou Springs, the "incline", and Barr Trail. ~5 miles).
The climb continues through the woods up to the ridge. The view from the ridge is amazing and I love that I am actually standing on city property, yet can see nothing but mountains and trees. This is why I live in the Springs!
The trail continues to the right, along the ridge with a gentle rolling incline, before beginning a slow, gentle decent to gold camp road (unpaved). Upon reaching Gold Camp Road, turn left (downhill) and continue about .5 mi to the gate and back up to your vehicle.
Great hike. Great trail-run (though I have to hike the steeper part of the uphill)
