Itinerary description
The start is at the top of the hill the finish is also at the top of the hill. And there are a lot of hills in between... They don't call it the valley of the 1000 hills for nothing.

I cut my teeth as a runner on this, and other nearby trails, as a means of escaping, however briefly, the drudgery of boarding school life. Nearly 50 years later, I'm still trail running, now in the mountains outside Tokyo. And I still find it exhilarating.
