Mount Coolum..... A great little trail up this Rock. Starts from the car park, and the whole trail up is plenty of man-placed rocks, so very easy to navigate up.
Took me walking at a brisk pace about 10 minutes to reach the summit. Heart rate did get elevated which was good for the cardio.
Cute at the summit is pretty good but not 360 degrees, although there are a couple of different vantage points to see views from different angles of the coast and inland. There were loads of tourists going up and down it was crazy.
At the top I decided to go down the "not-for-tourists" backside track towards the west. This leads down the otherside of this mountain. This starts at the rear side of the radio transmitter that is at the top of the Rock Summit. No one was going down this way.... Which was exactly my style!
This descent is rocky and a little overgrown, and very slippery. Had to grab branches on way down to keep from slipping. I thoroughly enjoyed this segment going down, with a few lookout points. The trail then became more faint but changed into fern and rainforest foliage, and was absolutely serene. Not many come up this way!
Kept following through a beautiful lush grassy patch area until I came out to an easement and onto Mountain View Dr, and ran back to my vehicle at the start point. This route took me along the southern side of Mt Coolum giving me another amazing angle of this Rock.
