Itinerary description
This is a semi-urban trail as unfortunately anything near Zürich is going to have a bit of asphalt. Quite flat given distance, Schweizmobil suggest only 650 metres of ascent. Net moving time 2h28min
Good train connections. the S5 will take you from Zug to Knonau in less than 10 minutes. Then from Thalwill it will be hardly 20 minutes into Zug or Zürich.
The nicest bit was the loop around the Türlersee.
I would recommend doing it in the opposite direction for views i.e. starting in Thalwill, though from public transport it is easier to start in Knonau and end in Thalwill (more train connections there).

Hello Miguel, I am a visitor to Zurich and will be there next week. I'm thinking of doing this trail or the one to Zug and back to make it a bit ove marathon distance. What is the water situation on these? Any reliable water fountains or convenience stores when passing through urban areas?
