Itinerary description
Beautiful trail towards the Huka Falls. I imagine it can be busy but I went around 6-ish and everyone had already left the parc. It was particularly fun to cross the bridge and find another route back. Had to cut it short as I was late for dinner.
4 things of interest here:
On entering the parc, there is a thermal creek going into the Waikato river. I didn't stop but it seemed really inviting.
2. This is a relatively broad river with water as clear as a small mountain creek, very spectacular.
3. Then of course, there is the falls.
4. There are some California Redwoods on one of the terrains along the Huka Falls Road. You would never notice them as they stand nicely in line with the more regular pine trees, were it not for the scent.
'5': Easy to combine with a nice bungy jump :-) More or less at the beginning of the trail (though I started from our appartment)
