Itinerary description
A trail run to the highest point in Virginia. Though this is a beautiful area with some of the best views around, it is too rocky to recommend for running (particularly barefoot running). Around 50% of the time you will be jumping around paths that are covered with small to medium sized rocks. These rocks are unmanageable at times and even become boulders towards the summit.
You will also be running through plenty of water and should see 20+ wild ponies.
I went up on the horse trails and came down the traditional route. Small entry fee to enter the park (2-3 dollars).
Attempt at your own risk.
