Itinerary description
2nd day of Cape Wrath Ultra, some hills are added.
Done in rainy conditions
If hiked, this route should be broken down in two.
Course starts following River Finnan upstream. It then turns right ascending and descends again parallel to a stream Chaorruinn.
It then turns left following parallel to river Desatty until you reach a beach. Depending on the tide you can avoid the going up the cliffs (as this track shows). After the beach you will cross River Carnach and follow that valley north to Barrisdale Bay.
In Barrisdale Bay you will follow a narrow single trail path with a few ups and downs that will take you to Kinloch Hourn. You will have views to your left of the sea Loch Hourn.
Kinloch Hourn is fairly remote. There is a bed and breakfast for those who hike but you may want to contact them beforehand.
