Itinerary description
A two lap off road route around the dam. We picked a chilly winter's day -1 at the start and running against the slight breeze chilled the air. One or two spots where you have to watch your footing. Dogs are allowed.
If you are hardcore you could drive through for the day, if you live in Jhb or Pretoria. Rather spend the weekend in the village. As it is over 2000m altitude you could get in some high altitude training. MTB trails in the vicinity.
In town there is a craft brewery, http://www.anvilbrewery.com/, the largest whisky collection, http://wildaboutwhisky.com/, various top class restaurants like, http://www.mrssimpsons.co.za/ and The Art of Food {haven;t eaten there but comes highly recommended}. The restaurants get busy so booking is recommended.
The birds of prey rehab centre is worth a visit, http://www.birdsofprey.co.za/
You can try your hand at fly fishing at various places around town {be prepared to eat the trout you catch}
