Ascension to the Carrantouhill Peak 1038m in County Kerry (Ireland), this being the highest on the island.
Framed in a beautiful Irish landscape, one can glimpse in the mists this wild-looking peak thanks to its steep slopes populated with green.
The activity was carried out in August and the humidity was quite high, with which the rocks and grasslands sinned of slippery, inconvenient solved with a suitable footwear.
Starting the route in Cronins yard, we will travel the first four km towards the well defined torrent and through which we will ascend to the hill that gives access to the southeast face of something less inclined. To the parrot while ascending through this torrent of about two hundred meters of altitude, an authentic natural stairway composed of slippery rocks covered verdín since there will always be water, since these mountains are an excellent channel of moisture, and others are quite close to the sea .
Near the hill, the winds will be more noticeable, if any, than if prevented. From here the road is much simpler to the top, well defined by the many people who choose this great destination.
I took the liberty of giving me a little round up there if I did not go straight to the top.
This peak is a pleasant satisfaction, excellent views of almost the entire south west coast of Ireland and of a large expanse of farmland and pastures almost to infinity. That if you have to have the same luck that I had, since the good weather accompanied this adventure. Luck!
