Itinerary description
This route takes you through a mixture of windfarms, private land and rights of way so please be aware that you may be asked to leave the area.
We have only had positive and friendly encounters with gamekeepers and farmers on this route although one horse rider (the only one I have ever seen) was stroppy. Be sure to avoid the Hopes Estate.
The route is mainly gravel track although the southern sections can be rutted land rover tracks. There are a number of technical steep ascents/descents and burn crossings that require attention but these are often interspersed with sections you can gleefully whizz along.
Be sure to close all gates (use the cycling/pedestrian gates where fitted) properly and watch out for the sheep who will almost always run across in front of you and even burst out of the deep bracken when you least expect it.
Be careful if you are riding on your own as the area is very remote, has little mobile signal and no one is likely to come along just when you need them to

Is this a Green lane or something like that?
Unfortunately, we do not have Green Lanes in Scotland but a mixture of Right of Way, Common and Private land. In some areas, the landowners do not mind if sensible off-road motorcyclists use the tracks on their private land occasionally...
