Day 2
After spending the night in Valeni we head towards the village of Borsa where the first off-road section awaits us. On the road, between the village of Salistea De Sus and Sacel, during a stop, we are invited by a local family to visit their traditional accommodation and their mill, a journey into the past… (see photo).
Arrived in Borsa, we leave the asphalt and following, at first, the Tasla river, we enter the natural park of the Maramures mountains. After about 35 km near a crossroads (which we took to the left) we meet the Romanian border police, kind and helpful they give us directions on the best way.
We skirt the Cirlibaba river for a few kilometers (pay attention to the pools along the road, some very deep) to then follow the Suceava river after passing the village of Bobeica. After a short detour towards the abandoned Ukrainian border (see photo) we continue our direction towards Argel (eye at the crossroads -> on the left a rough road with large cobbles) where we find the asphalt after 93km from Borsa. From there towards Vatra Dornei, where we will spend the night (Casa Dar & And) passing through the Curmatura Boului pass (1156m).

Trip made with Yamaha Tenere 700 and Benelli trk 502
