Hi, Awesome ride and great to read you write up on Facebook. Can I ask what was the maximum distance you drove without refuel? I have a 400km range right now, am considering a route like yours through the Western Sahara, I can add 100km easily. Would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Paul Youcef Cummings - three or even four times we have covered nearly 600km, for example - this track here is circa 550km from fuel station to the next one. Although, on hamada You needn't to worry about fuel consumption as it is rather low. Another thing in Mauritania - there is a lot of sand.

Thanks for the reply, very much appreciated. I guess i should change my Armadillo for 3 gallon, that would give me 630kms effective fuel range. For this section, I see you noted it as medium difficulty, would it be an area you would drive alone ( experienced) ? I would like to follow your Mauritania route, however it looks like too much sand to be alone, I can ride sand dunes no problem, but being alone in dunes is another thing.

Exactly, up to here it is at most medium in terms of difficulty. But Mauritania and sandy canyons with black rock walls - forget it as a lone rider, it is serious.
