2023 06 11 Grand Colombier Rhemoz Gignez

Nous étions trois motos (2 Ténéré 700 et une GS 1250). Nous avons suivi la piste d'origine (Château-Fort - Puthier de Sofien Annemasse) pour les premiers 40.9KM.
La piste est composée à 48% de hors-piste et à 52% d'asphalte. Le début est une belle piste forestière rocailleuse en montée.
Du KM 12,4 au KM 15,8, la piste s'enfonce dans les champs et devient plus difficile à suivre si la végétation est luxuriante.
Au KM 12,9 (45°53'37.9 "N 5°46'06.6 "E ou 45.893858, 5.768500), il y a une montée dans la forêt avec beaucoup de boue et de rochers où il est conseillé d'avoir de bons pneus tout-terrain. Une fois sorti de la forêt au KM 14.0 (45°53'12.8 "N 5°45'55.7 "E ou 45.886883, 5.765467), vous êtes de nouveau dans les champs en montant dans de profondes ornières. On arrive ensuite à une route non loin de la Pause du Grand Colombier où l'on peut boire un verre ou déjeuner.
La route sera asphaltée pendant un certain temps. Le reste des pistes hors route sont de bonnes pistes forestières rocailleuses. La piste originale quitte la piste rocailleuse pour entrer dans un champ sur la gauche et descend assez bas pour entrer dans une forêt où la piste peut être boueuse. Nous sommes restés sur la piste rocailleuse et l'avons suivie à travers la forêt jusqu'à la route principale.

We were three bikes (2 Ténéré 700 and one GS 1250). We followed the original track (Château-Fort - Puthier from Sofien Annemasse) for the first 40.9KM.
The trail is 48% offroad and 52% asphalt. The beginning is a nice rocky forest track uphill.
From KM 12.4 until 15.8 the track goes into fields and becomes harder to follow if the vegetation is lush.
At KM 12.9 (45°53'37.9"N 5°46'06.6"E or 45.893858, 5.768500) there is a climb into the forest with a lot of mud and rocks where it is advised to have good offroad tires. Once out of the forest at KM 14.0 (45°53'12.8"N 5°45'55.7"E or 45.886883, 5.765467) you are back in the fields again going uphill in deep rain ruts. Then you get to a road not far from the Pause du Grand Colombier where you can have a drink or lunch.
The road will be on asphalt for a while. The rest of the offroad tracks are good rocky forest tracks. The original track leaves the rocky track into a field to the left and banks down quite a bit going into a forest where the track can be muddy. We stayed on the rocky track and followed it through the forest until the main road.
