The route begins where you take the cabin to go up to Balea Lake. There is little parking space, the road is cut from there, from October to June. The path is well marked, you have to follow the red diamond signs, in the trees and rocks, the first 2 km are complicated if there is not much snow, roots, rocks, fallen trees ... (I had to remove the boards several times ) and a small descent of about 80 meters before starting again to climb the valley parallel to the road, the spectacular forest, but when it disappears and you can see all the mountains and the valley to Lake Doamnei the views are unbeatable. You leave the lake to the right without going down to it and you go up a hill that is on the left, in this area there is an avalanche of snow, after this hill you notice another than the end where it began to descend. From there you can see the end of the cabin, Balea Lake you can sense it with so much snow. And now comes the surprising thing, the descent connects with the famous Transfagarasan road, the good thing about so much snow is that you go over the curves of the road without realizing it, at first leaving the cabin on the right until you reach 1600merros that you pass under the cable car cables, leaving it on the left and from here you follow the road until the start of the cable car, indescribable, snowboarding on a road. I had to get off the board a couple of times, it's not very inclined. Going down the road at night is quite an experience.
