Itinerary description
This route should be called: snow, snow and more snow. It is an ascension of moderate difficulty to the Estanés ibón. The ibón (lake) was covered by more than one meter of snow, being able to walk on it. In the GPS track is that it seems that we were "walking on water". There is much snow during all walk (we did the route in March). The views of snow-covered peaks are spectacular. In several places there are people skiing: they come up with their mountaineering skis here to ski "off-run". Car can be left in a car park beside the road. If there is plenty of snow on the road then the parking can not be used. In that case leave the car in the shoulder. It is an absolutely essential route. Our guide Paco (from Pirinea Nordic, +34-642 68 52 88, www.pirineanordic.com) was an excellent companion. He knows everything: history, traces of animals, mountain, snow, etc. It was a great company
