Itinerary description

A 15Km Circular snow shoe hiking route from Campelles village near Ribes de Freser in the Serra de Montgrony mountain range. This area is not a ski resort so you get to enjoy fresh natural virgin snow.

The serra de Montgrony Mountain range is found between the multiple villages of Campelles, Gombren, Planolas, San Cristobal de Tosas and Castellar de n'Hug with the higest peek being Plan de Pujalts at 2056 metres. This snow shoe route route passes via La Covil summit at 2,002 metres.

The Montgrony mountain range is used as open grazing of the Pyrenees brown cow with mountain meadows on the foots slopes and forests comprising red pines, oak groves with boxwood and beech. The high mountain forests have scattered clearings of pastures with wild flowers and some peat bogs.
