Itinerary description
It was the perfect weather for a snowshoeing day two weeks after the last storm. The plan was to start from the flag hill but the road to the hill was still closed with snow; instead we chose to start from the Sohat Bottling Water Plant.
The trek started at 9:00 o'clock using the north face side of mount Kneisseh with an active northern wind that prevented us from dressing down - this was a blessing resulted in us avoiding the sweat. It was an extreme uphill climb in the beginning (first 1 km) then it was a sea-saw of "up the hill / down the hill" trek until we reached the bombed TV Channel 11 building. Luck was on our side all the way and back. The wind abated when we get to the TV building (Highest point of our trip); we had lunch and a short break. The plan was to go back down from the town of Tarsheesh side and snowshoe back at low altitude, bu the weather turned into thick fog and we took the decision to go back the same way.
On the way back, we had the northern wind at our back which allowed us to strip down to our base layers. The truth be told that the scenery on the way back was a treat which made up for not doing a loop.
