Comment : Goal was to reach lake Lioson but I knew this might not be possible. I didn't know the trail between La Chaux Derrey and the lake Lioson but I saw the elevation lines were dangerously close on the swiss map meaning traversing a very steep slope sideways which is very hard if not impossible on snowshoes unlike cross-country skiing.
The path before the dangerous part was already bad see attached picture and keep in mind it has been digitally enhanced...with the clouds low light and unmarked snow all I saw was white impossible to see the ground nor if it was flat slightly or very downhill everything was one color with no details you did not see the ground just white everywhere.
As I expected I ended up turning around, the picture I attached does not do it justice the only "walkable" path was two thin cross-country ski width the picture makes you believe you could walk next to them you could not it was more than 45° 100% slope and if you check the trees on the right you might notice they were like 20-30m below almost immediately if you slip there it's the end for you.
The trail back was easy but I'm very glad I tried to make this hike longer and did a detour at the beginning because it was the best part for sure, don't follow the signs if you're physically up for doing a ski slope in reverse climb towards corne du soere for a great view best snow and more sun than closer to the mountains, the official trail we took to go back to the car was pretty bad more mud than snow and nowhere near as pretty.
