Comment : started at the break of dawn, it snowed the day before and I hoped for a virgin snow trail with no traces and I almost got it but was too slow for a cross-country skiier which was kind enough to take a detour for a while to let me take a few more pictures :) didn't even ask he did it by himself, cool guy. While it was still dark I tought I wasn't alone and there were some husky dogs because I heard growling in the woods...I was alone no humans around so...not sure it was wolves but I'll say it was lol
Just like hike 094 snowshoeing in "deep" snow (30cm/12" this time) with no traces is extremely tiring I planned to go far enough to be able to see Derborence but was pretty much done reaching Anzeinde, had no energy left so turned back. My goal of the day was achieved so I'm very happy with this hike very very, beautiful pristine snow and saw only 1 human during the ascent and 2 paragliders ?! when descending..really don't know what those two hoped to do with hiking sneakers, no way they could run fast enough to inflate their gliders in snow that thick and fresh.
This hike had only 1 difficult time, slightly before plan de la roche you're supposed to cross a natural ditch, the summer path had too much snow or went down in a landslide couldn't find it so had to improvise I grabbed an overhanging tree branch and pretty much jumped down Not a problem for me as usual I'm looking for fun and adventure not targets, goals or summits.
