NOTICE: It is understood that anyone who wants to do this same route assumes the responsibility that an activity entails that is not exempt from possible risks or incidents, in an environment in which common sense and circumstances can make the difference between having a good day or the opposite.
On this occasion I wanted to remember the beautiful catamaran tour we did from Port Allen, south of the island of Kauai, to possibly one of the most impressive and beautiful coasts on our planet, the Na Pali coast. The total round trip is more than one hundred kilometers, which are made very bearable thanks to the continuous attention of the crew and the experienced handling of the ship that the captain showed. The cameras did not stop from the beginning of the tour, with encounters of groups of dolphins, in which the odd little one could be seen. Others, more adult and exhibitionist, who with their jumps and corkscrews raised the exclamations of all of us who were on the ship, were not lacking among those nice mammals.
The Na Pali Coast is actually a third of the way, but when we reached it, the cameras started flashing. The contemplation of such an exceptional landscape is a delight for the eyes. Nature here has proven once again to be the greatest and best sculptor of a volcanic landscape, which due to its age (it is the oldest island in the archipelago) has been adorned with its best finery of green tones. This is called “the green island” for a reason.
The helicopters that flew over the area all the time, reminded us that another less romantic and calm option to see the coast, was from the heights. We prefer to leave this aerial alternative to fly over the Kilauea volcano on the island of Hawaii.
