Itinerary description
In May 1978 my father and my uncle took me for the longest possible sail in the Billings - Rio Grande reservoir system in Sao Paulo. In total, we sailed over 60km in one day (the cruise was circular starting at the San Marco Nautical Garage).
At some point the wind raised above 20KT and we faced waves 1,5m high and sail only with a reefed main to avoid the rudder going out of the water, a constant problem when the Marreco 16' heeled. I have now been sailing for over 40 years but this was the best cruise of my life.
