Trip exported from GARMIN Dakota 20
J19 ~ Sunday 03/01 The Exumas - Little Farmers Cay 6.6 Nautical
Azure sky, temperature 26 °, wind SSW 6 knots, sea beautiful.
We left the beautiful anchorage of Jacks Bay and along the engine coast we reached the small island of Little Farmers. Rather than anchoring in front of the small harbor, we took one of six chests (hardly due to a strong current with weak but contrary wind) in the sound that separates Little Farmers Cay Island from the south end from Great Guana Cay and Big Farmers Cay, a superb mooring spot. Little Farmers is inhabited and there are also some houses on the two neighboring islands.
While we were finishing lunch a Bahamian came to collect the tax of the anchor on the trunk, and since he came back from fishing we took the opportunity to buy him a beautiful lobster that will make our dinner.
We landed of course and goes around the small village with scattered habitat. Rod Perserence showed us around his house, an incredible junk, and offered us to taste a watermelon. Further, we entered Terry's superb Ocean Cabin bar, certainly the biggest owner of the central Exumas and yet very warm. We drank a punch and as he served three different punches we exchanged our glasses ...
Back on board shortly before 5 pm It was Sunday!
