J13 ~ Monday 28/12 The Exumas - Big Major Spot 29.7 nautical
Sky a little overcast but the sun will return quickly, temperature 26 °, wind E 12/14 knots then 9/10 kn, sea beautiful.
We leave the beautiful anchorage of Warderiks Wells at 9 am and quickly hoists the genoa at five laps and the GV at a reef. Later we will drop the genoa completely. We progress like every day upwind facing the trade winds but the speed will be good generally more than 5 knots or even 6 knots. The last hour will however be at the engine directly on the mooring and wind in the nose.
At Staniel Cay, there is a private marina with a small number of seats and at the rate for very wealthy Americans and although it is possible to anchor in the small bay in front of the marina, we preferred to anchor at 15:30 on the coast North of Big Major Spot, a small island in front of Staniel Cay ..
We anchor at 15:30 and we will be more than 30 tonight at anchor including half a dozen large motorboats belonging to some very rich bait ...
