Itinerary description
From Zug station follow the Zürich-Zugerland-Panoramaweg (no. 47) towards Zugersee along the lake from and then turn inwards and follow the Lorze river. The path then splits off towards Sihlbrugg and goes upwards into the forest. After Sihlbrugg cross the Sihl river and turn left and up a short steep incline. Now you are running with the Sihl river on the left all the way to Zürich. Small hills in the beginning then it becomes very flat once you reach the old Sihlbrugg station.
Surprisingly hardly any water fountains along the way, but sometimes you can find one on the other side of the Sihl.
