Itinerary description
The windmills look big from the road, but if you want to know how big they really are, then try this parkrun. You get to run right next to them. Of course you have a two kilometer climb to get to the highest point but then its all downhill to the finish. On a clear day you can see Table mountain.A definite bucket list parkrun.
After the parkrun go down to the Weskus Padstal, on the R27 at the parkrun turnoff, for breakfast. Be prepared for old style farmhouse bread. The hugest slices of bread that I have seen in years. We had the toasted bacon and egg sandwiches. Two people could have shared one sandwich.
If you choose the time of year correctly then you can get to see the wild flowers. We went into the West Coast National Park and it was an awesome spectacle.
PS The first two km may be classified as difficult just because you climb, but after that it is really easy.
