Itinerary description
From Fira to Oia, I left at 6, arrived at 8. Without the many stops for photo-ops, it took me 1 hr and 15 min. I was in high season (mid July) but it wasn't too hot that early in the morning. Do bring water though.
The only place where you can easily loose the track, is in Imerivigli. At the Blue Note restaurant, you keep left first, then you take a right again. After that, the route is pretty self explanatory.
Due to changing underground and hilly terrain, I arrived more tired than anticipated.
Had a great breakfast in cafe Terpsi. Arriving this early, all the best spots are available and this one is open early.
The taxi back from Oia to Fira cost me EUR 20. There is also a bus, it goes every hour.
I doubted between trail running and running. Most of it is on pedestrian paths, albeit not good ones.
