Running in Galway - Gaillimh

My first time in Galway, I loved this city even if the weather wasn't realy running friendly!

Anyway nothing to stop me to run through the latin quarter, skirting the Corrib to the Cathedral and then to the beautiful University building.

The wonderful view of the ocean from here.

Today I am in Galway, Gaillimh in the local language. Can I possibly make me miss a waterfront jog? Obviously not, therefore, although the climate of early February is not exactly the best, here I am.

Departure from the house where I am a guest in Forster Court, just behind the bus station, I head towards the center, passing through the main square and crossing the pedestrian area of the Latin quarter I predict the beautiful cycle path that runs along the Corrib, the impetuous river that it cuts the city in two, up to the Cathedral. From here I head to the Quadrilatero, the small castle that today is the seat of the University and the northernmost point of my morning exit.

From here I head south and after briefly losing my way back to the cathedral and head towards the ocean, arriving at Nimmo's Pier, the pier and South Park, the green area overlooking Galway beach, a meeting place for others daredevil runner and that separates and protects Claddagh, his neighborhood famous for the production of the homonymous ring, an Irish symbol, by the forces of the sea. Just through the Claddagh and then back up the city center to Forster Court.

The only real difficulty was finding the strength to face the cold wind and rain, but after a few days in Ireland you get used to the climate.
