Itinerary description
The first 7km are on dirt road and fairly flat. You then start the climbing until halfway. At about 12km the road is tarred all the way to the 21km mark. There are some really tough pulls up to 21km. Once there you turn around and run all the way downhill. One of the few races where it would be difficult not to run a negative split. How difficult can that be? Water points are great and every 2.5km. Helpers are enthusiastic and most of them are not runners. It got very hot towards the end but I still enjoyed the run. You start experiencing the real Waterberg from about 13km. Some runners saw elephant on the route.
Well worth making the trip to Thabazimbi.
