Itinerary description
Approx 7 mile cross country route on Salisbury Plain above the village of Great Cheverell. The route offers some great views across the plain and over the lower lying villages.
There are three hills in total, but all are relatively short. The route is over military land open to the public, so is normally accessible all year round.
Nearest facilities are in the village of Great Cheverell where there is a pub (The Bell) and village shop.
Waypoints
1. Start/Finish
Located at the top of Pear Tree hill above the village of Great Cheverell. Parking is by available on the side of the track or in the summer it is possible to park in the open. Nearest facilities are in Great Cheverell, The Bell inn and a village shop. From the start follow the track along Hill wood towards Stoke Hill Farm
2. Stoke Hill
At the top of Stoke Hill the route joins imber range path. At the top of Pear Tree Hill turn left and continue along the path for a short stretch before seeing the range flag on your right.
3. Range Flag
Here the route leaves the range path to the left and descends downhill with Cheverell Hill Farm on the left before arriving at the bridleway. Here the route turns right and head back towards the range path.

Route rejoins the range path. Turn left and head towards New Zealand Camp Farm.
