Puente de Cadenas, Budapest

El Puente de las Cadenas es el puente más antiguo de Budapest y el más conocido de todo el Danubio. Oficialmente es conocido como Puente Széchenyi en honor a su creador, el conde István Széchenyi. Hasta la construcción del puente, el Danubio sólo se podía cruzar en barco o, durante los inviernos fríos, caminando sobre sus aguas congeladas. La dificultad de cruzar el Danubio entre estaciones fue el principal motivo de la construcción del puente. El Puente de las Cadenas fue finalmente inaugurado el 20 de noviembre de 1849 después de 20 años de obras. The Chain Bridge is the oldest bridge in Budapest and the best known of all the Danube. Officially known as the Széchenyi Bridge in honor of its creator, Count István Széchenyi. Until the construction of the bridge, the Danube could only be crossed by boat or, during the cold winters, walking on its frozen waters. The difficulty of crossing the Danube between stations was the main reason for the construction of the bridge. The Bridge of the Chains was finally inaugurated on November 20, 1849 after 20 years of construction.

Basílica de San Esteban

La Basílica de San Esteban de Budapest es el edificio religioso más grande de Hungría. Se dice que la basílica puede albergar en su interior a más de 8.500 personas. La denominación en húngaro es Szent István-bazilika. El nombre de la basílica hace honor al primer rey de Hungría, Esteban I (975–1038). En el interior de la basílica se encuentra una de las reliquias sagradas más importantes del país: su mano derecha. Las dimensiones de la basílica hablan por sí solas: su base mide 55 metros de ancho por 87 metros de largo y la altura de la cúpula son 96 metros, convirtiéndose en el punto más alto de Budapest junto al edificio del Parlamento. La construcción de la Basílica de San Esteban finalizó en 1905 después de más medio siglo de obras.
