Itinerary description

The hills to the east of Aberystwyth were known as the Welsh Potosi due to their valuable reserves of Silver, Lead and Zinc. A way-marked trail from Borth through Pontarfynach to Pontrhydfendegaid visits many communities associated with the old mines. Time has mellowed the landscape and it is now very beautiful but with hints of it's former importance for those that are prepared to look.

NB: My GPS seems to have recorded this track as 43 km - which is obviously wrong. It's actually about 18 miles.
