No, not required as it is part of Lamington National Park.

Hi Colin,i know this map is 4 years old but was there today and wanted to ask. Can you climb it without ropes? Cheers.

No, you need ropes to do a retrievable abseil back down the first face from the anchor point, otherwise too dangerous.
All other climb points lead to difficult faces where ropes are needed.
It has been declared an Aboriginal Heritage site now and hikers are discouraged from climbing it so I won't do it again.
