Viaje a Grecia, día 9; Visita a Methoni e ida a Areoploi / Summer in Greece - Day 9: Visiting Methoni and trip to Areoploi

We woke up in Methoni and we take advantage of the morning to visit the town, and above all its fortress and tower, at the foot of the sea, impressive!

After this we took the opportunity to take a little kayak tour of the bay and approach the fortress from the water, to see it from another angle, and then go snorkeling for the first time in Greek waters.

Then we leave Methoni to continue on our way to the next Peloponnesian peninsula, the Mani peninsula, which we will leave to visit the next day.

During this trip we passed through Kalamata, but we did not even stop, as it is an area quite saturated by tourism and we were not very interested. Further on, already on the Mani peninsula, we made a stop almost at dusk in a small town to have a drink. The town was Neo Itilio, and although there is not much to visit, it was a good stop, to enjoy the sunset and have a drink, in a nice little town on the coast.

And finally we arrived at Areopoli, already at night so we could not visit, so we made night there and visited it the next day.

Amanecemos en Methoni y aprovechamos la mañana para visitar el pueblo, y sobretodo su fortaleza y torre, al pie del mar, impresionante!

Tras esto aprovechamos para darnos un pequeño paseo en kayak por la bahía y acercarnos hasta la fortaleza desde el agua, para verla desde otro angulo, y ya de paso hacer snorkel por primera vez en aguas griegas.

Después salimos de Methoni para continuar camino en dirección a la siguiente península del Peloponeso, la península de Mani, que ya dejaremos para visitar al siguiente dia.

Durante este viaje pasamos por Kalamata, pero ni siquiera paramos, ya que es una zona bastante saturada por el turismo y no nos interesaba demasiado. siguiendo mas allá, ya en la península de Mani hicimos una parada casi al atardecer en un pequeño pueblo para tomar algo. El pueblo era Neo Itilio, y aunque no hay gran cosa, fue una buena parada, para disfrutar de la puesta de sol y tomar algo, en un pequeño y bonito pueblo en la costa.

Y por fin llegamos a Areopoli, ya de noche por lo que no la pudimos visitar, así que hicimos noche aquí y la visitamos al día siguiente.
