Viaje a Grecia, dia 8; Killini, Olympia y Methoni / Summer in Greece - Day 8: from Killini to Methoni, with many stops, including Ancient Olympia
This is the day after coming back from the bike trip to the islands of Zakynthos and Kefalonia.
This day we take back the van, and continued our way south through the Peloponnese peninsula. Our first stop was at the ruins of the Ancient site of Olympia, where we could take a look a the running track, and the ruins of all the complex.
From there we continued south until we came across a lake, called Kaifas, which used to be a resort where the people went in vacations to relax in the water. But now it´s abandoned and the buildings are in ruins, so the only thing left is the quiet and beautiful lake with many accesses and docks.
We kep going, and the next stop was at Agias Kiriaki Beach, where we toke a bath and then we continued south to the Voidiokilia Beach. This beach is amazing, in a very narrow bay flanked by high rocks and with a big marsh at the back. In the left part in the cliffs lies the Nestor cave, and above it the Navarino castle. Everything here has lots of history, and visiting it all were obligated.
After watching the sunset in the beach we left to Methoni, where we arrived already at night, saving the visit for the next morning.
