The route of employees of the Kurilsky reserve in Hokkaido July 20, 2013
9:00 - 12:00 Lecture on a visit to a local fisherman (Betsukai settlement) about pinnipeds living on the peninsula of Nutsuk and in Lake Furen. Opinion exchange.
Excursion on the lake Furen by boat, observation of the laggas.
13:00 -15: 00 Transfer from Betsukai to the village of Akkesi.
15:00 Lecture on the topic: "Anthur studies in the northeast of Hokkaido". The lecture was delivered by a Japanese scientist who talked about the increase in the number of anthur, new methods for calculating the number of anthur, tracking this species with the help of satellite collars, as well as the emergence of hybrids between anthur and lorga.
After the lecture, they discussed the plan of the forthcoming joint expedition to study pinnipeds and sea otters in the Lesser Kurile Islands.
