Itinerary description

The wonder is that the trek also looks like Sarpam with padagalu.

From Tirupati to Tirumala by Bus and walk upto Rambagicha Bus stop.
Then take the direction of Gangamma Temple. Walk behind the temple and traverse the recycling unit to reach the road. Small indication can be found "Sesha Theertham" through the woods. This climbs up the small hill. Almost on the top of the hill, take right into "Kakula Dibba". Take few minutes of rest here and drink enough water as there is no shadows after this point and need to walk in the sun.

Follow the yellow indications and walk along the man build wall. From here the Elephant arch and Ghanta Mandapam towrds south.

Take a good breath as the descent is too steep and slippery. Take time to descent and be careful on the stones. some places, the stones are moving. If you step on a moving stone, both dangerous for you and also for the people walking in front of you as the stones may role and hit on the head of others.

After decent, you arrive at junction, where you can go to Sesha theertham on the left and Sapta Rishi Guhas on the right.

Take left and walk on the wall of the right side mountain for about 100 meteres. take care as the walk area is small and dangerous. It is also possible to swim in to the waters to reach the next island.

Most of the people left their baggage and shoes here (with your own risk). Then cross the second pond by walking into waters. The depth depends on the season (in Summer, the depth is around 1.5 meters). But, be careful and swimming is suggested. This pond is about 30 meters long. It is slippery inside and so watch your steps.

The next pond is about 30 meters long and depth of more than 10 meters (?). One must swim to cross. Most of the time, there are one or two tubes left by the volunteers. So use them and leave them. You can also bring 30 meters rope, so that, you can cross with the help of people who knows swim.

Here is the hard to climb about 2 meters high stone which is like an obstacle between two ponds. You need somebody's help here to climb up. You can also through the rope around the rock and use it to climb. Atleast for first one or two persons, it is difficult to climb. thn, they can pull the others.

Just after the rock, on the right side, you see something like a open cave, where you can find craved Sankhu and Chakras. Here you can perform puja while returning from theertham.

Walk carefully about 50 meters and climb in to Sesha Theertham. You will find small entrance to a big pond of about 10 meters diameter. Too deep and only good swimmers are recommended to cross and swim in there. It is extremely difficult to get any assistance at theis stage. So take extreme care and do not tempt to go in. Or learn swimming well before visiting this theertham.

Here is the wonder of A Pond and top of it is Sesha Padagalu. Naturally arrived.
The most delighted time and enjoy and do not rush to come back as this happiness is eternal.

Come back to the tree which is at the down of the hill.

If you want to spend the night , Sapta Rishi gruhas is wonderful place and worth the efforts. It is not easy to reach here. There is small wall on the mountain and small place (some times, just enough to place toes). to walk. It is not advisable for people with vertigo. It is also advisable with baggage and with a rope mounted along the path by experiences people.

After this walk, all the pleasure in the world is yours. Walk along the narrow vally until the Guhas.

Important Note:
(a) Do not disturb the animals. It is their place and you are just a guest.
(b) Make the place clean. DO not leave any papers, plastic, any material. This is natural place and it is like a temple.
(c) Always remember, the place giveing us immense pleasure to us and we need to keep it in the same way to our generation to come.

History:

Behind this sacred teertham there lies a fabulous legend. Once lord Vishnu felt very thirsty and asked Garuda to fetch water for quenching his thirst. When Garuda took too much time, lord asked Adishesha to strike a torrent with his tail. Adishesha did exactly the same and hence this theertham is known by his name.

This teertham is situated within the temple precincts and used as a prayer well by the devotees. They tenders salt, jaggery and pepper into the well and pray for health. It is believed that by praying here one would be redeemed even from serious diseases. Those experiencing Sarpa dosha implore to the Sheshnag here for respite.
