The starting point at Picnic Point was not obvious. We drove down Tobruk Memorial Drive to a carpark located here. Looking across to Tabletop Mountain, we veered right from the carpark and took the bitumen Fantail trail down to the Firebreak Trail. Continuing right we came to the road, Tabletop Drive. We followed this to a carpark at the base of the first steep climb of the trail. From here the path was clear but rocky and steep. It was a popular day to hike here with ages ranging from 5 to 70 years. Your success will depend on your rock scrambling ability and lack of fear of heights. The views at the top are well worth the hard effort, up and down.
