Itinerary description

Today was TOUGH. Mostly because we did a side trip to the glacier flanking lake Ala-Kul, most of which was off trail, and required a huge climb up an unforgiving scree slope to rejoin the main trail and go up over the final 3,900m+ pass. Decided to call it a day before Altyn-Arashan due to hunger and fatigue. Dinner time!
