Sokolica

Sokolica Monastery is a Serbian Orthodox monastery dedicated to Saint George, near Sokolac in Ravna Romanija. The monastery Church of St. George the Great Martyr in Ravna Romanija, known as Sokolica, was consecrated on August 11, 2002. The temple was consecrated by Metropolitan of Dabar-Bosnia Nikolaj, established parishes, and the parish of Ravna Romanija. Construction of the temple began in 1996, the temple was settled in 2001, and the works were fully completed in 2003. In the churchyard there is a chapel dedicated to St. Peter Zimonjic. The church was designed by Ljubica Bosnjak, an architect from Belgrade.

Great Lupoglav

Romanija Mountain is an attractive mountain because of its location and well-preserved natural environment. It attracts different kinds of nature lovers who are drawn by its magnificent network of forests, variety of wildlife, vast plateaus and numerous caves.  The highest peak is Great Lupoglav, with an altitude of 1652m. It is lies on the west side of the Red Rocks, another site on the mountain that has been historically popular. The main characteristic of Romanija is its great rocky barrier, which has individual parts: Flat Rock, Eagle Rock, Red Rocks, Black Rock, Lady, and Large Rock. Romania provides various forms of recreational tourism such as paragliding, hiking, trekking through forests dominated by fir, spruce and pine. The beautiful nature, and hills that gradually grow into thick conifer forests, offer a great reward for all those who decide to hike to Romanija.

Novak's cave

Novakova cave is located in the Great rock, on steep slopes of Romanija and is named after the old folk hero Starina Novak.&nbsp;Starina Novak was a historical figure from the second half of the sixteenth century, originating from Smederevo. He brigandage across Serbia and Herzegovina, but longest held on Romania and left a deep trace in the nation, as no other brigand.&nbsp;<br />The cave is located at an altitude of 1515 m.&nbsp;To the cave leads hiking trail that is properly marked and reinforced by cables.&nbsp;The trail leads to the Novak's sources, a large mountain trough.&nbsp;Hiking through thick conifer forest leads to the Novak fields, are suitable for camping holidays.&nbsp;<br />Below Novak's cave are the Emperor's waters, the most famous fountain in the vast area. Alongside of the spring led Constantinople road, which at one time was one of the most important roads of the Turkish Empire in Bosnia.&nbsp;

Ceković house

Ceković house in Pale was built in 1915.&nbsp;This two-storey with a loft and a wooden porch on pillars is considered one of the most beautiful houses in this region from the beginning of the twentieth century.&nbsp;The construction of this beautiful home began in 1902 and lasted 13 years.&nbsp;The house was in 2004 declared a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina.&nbsp;Ceković house was rebuilt in 2007 and today there is a Gallery of Art Colony Pale.&nbsp;The house is located in the southwest part of the Pale to Romanija street. <p>&nbsp;</p>

The Church of St. Joseph

The church of St.&nbsp;Joseph in Pale was built in 1911, and the parish was established in Pale in 1925.&nbsp;The church was built in the mountain style, entirely of wood, so that the only wooden church in the Vrhbosna Archdiocese.&nbsp;The church is under the protection of the State Commission for the Protection of Monuments.His style fits perfectly in the mountainous area for winter recreation and sports.&nbsp;The church was built or Austrian engineers for their religious needs, and later, increasing the number of Catholic population, was the center of the Romanija Catholics.&nbsp;The architectural ensemble of the Catholic Church in Pale is located in the center of the village, in the so-called.&nbsp;Old Bazaar or Little Pale.&nbsp;Access to the church is from the northeast.&nbsp;The main axis of the church is directed northeast-southwest, with an entrance on the north side.This church stands its architectural features of churches of Orthodox provenance, as well as churches of Catholic provenance in the Croatian territory.&nbsp;Next to the church was built and the parsonage. <p>(<a href="http://www.palelive.com">www.palelive.com</a>)</p>

Ogorjelica

An eternal synonym for a skiing challenge, the mountain Jahorina can be proud of the fact that people have skied here since the Austro-Hungarian period of rule. The first hotel on the mountain '&Scaron;ator' (tent) was built in 1923, when the first skis were brought here. The first skiing club &lsquo;SKI&rsquo; was opened in 1928 and represents the beginning of the development of ski sports in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It experienced a boom in 1984 when the 14th&nbsp;Winter Olympic Games were held in Sarajevo and the competitions for alpine skiing for women were held on this Olympic beauty. <p>The highest mountain peak is Ogorjelica at an altitude of 1,916 meters. It belongs to the Dinara mountain chain.</p> <p>Jahorina is one of the largest and most beautiful winter tourist centers in the Balkans, with large snow covered pastures that represent a real challenge for skiers. It is also a popular destination for people who ride sleighs, snowboarders, climbers, hikers and those who collect medicinal plants. The mountain is very popular in the winter and in the summer. You will find 20 kilometers of well-prepared ski slopes with 2 six-seaters, 4 ski lifts and 3 two-seaters during the winter season. Olimpic center Jahorina

The nature of the Jahorina offers all the luxury you need: ski slopes, numerous springs and streams, forests, fragrant meadows, and beautiful landscapes that can be traversed by hiking trail. <p>Jahorina is located in the central part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is nestled in a mountain chain dotted with other extraordinary mountains: Čvrsnica , Prenj, Bjelasnica, Treskavica and Zelengora. The length of the Jahorina massif is 30 kilometers away. The highest peak is Ogorjelica (1916 meters above sea level).</p> <p>The Olympic Centre Jahorina has over 20 kilometers of excellently prepared slopes with 3 six-seat, 4 ski-lifts and 2 sofas that can carry over 10 000 skiers per hour.</p> <p>Jahorina offers opportunities for hikers , climbers, cavers, hunters, fishing enthusiasts, sportsfolk and all those who crave the peace of untouched nature.</p>
