Itinerary description
Hike up Benbulben early Nov 2011. Very indirect climb to summit. My descent is much more direct

This route is no longer possible due to access restrictions. To get to this route, one has to take an access road that comes off of the road leading to Benbulben farms B&B. There are two gates that one must pass. The first gate is unlocked but the second is locked. I used this route to get to the top in 2012. Back then, I just climbed over the second gate. As of July 2015, that second gate has barbed wire on the top and rust metal spikes on top of the barbed wire!!!! A rather emphatic "no entry" statement! I also could not find any way around this gate. In any case, in July 2015 I used your "Benbulben descent" route, which does not require crossing this second gate, to go up and down

See my comment on this route--I don't think this route is possible any longer to due to access issues. But when I did it in 2012, it was a great hike!!!
