Itinerary description
The day started with me looking for a Western Union which took almost all morning.
The road out of Bandundu is an excellent red piste. Towards the end it turns into white sand over an heavily eroded road. I crashed once after steering into the deep sand parts when evading bicyclists. The bike wouldn't start after picking it up again. As it turned out some sand got into the starter switch and had to be cleaned.
I slept in a village so small that there wasn't even a proper chef du village. I found a host in Gucci(sp?). A very hospitable young lad which offered me a bed for the night and fed me. He's a huge fan of FC Barcelona and Lionel Messi in particular, unfortunately he can't watch the games because there's no television anywhere near.
Sidenote: The DGM officer in Bagata is a extraordinarily despicable subject. I didn't pay anything, but had to stay for quite a long time.
